An Every Day Occurrence

As for me, I delight In the everyday Way, Among mist-wrapped vines And rocky caves. Here in the wilderness I am completely free, With my friends, The white clouds, Idling forever. There are roads, But they do not reach the world; Since I am mindless, Who can rouse my thoughts? On a bed of stone I sit, Alone in the night, While the round moon Climbs up Cold Mountain. - Han shan ( 8th century)

I feel like I'm cheating.

You know how a guy goes through a midlife crisis and trades his reliable, dependable and ever-loving wife in for a newer, younger model? Yeah, you get the picture.

I am driving a new car.

For the last five years, my first car has been faithful and gotten me and the kids around this wonderful city.

Sure, cars have no feelings. They don't, right? But I can't help but feel a little guilty for having abandoned it so quickly when presented with a shiny new model that has features.

Maybe I'll take the old car for a spin. Just me and it.
